Objective 4.
Recognize and understand the emerging role technology plays in collecting analyzing reporting and using data.

Based on what you read in the report, why has education moved toward greater implementation of technology-based assessment practices? ' "For example, it is now possible to gather data during formative and summative assessments that can be used to create personalized digital learning experiences. In addition, teachers can use these data to inform interventions and decisions about how to engage individual students; personalize learning; and create more engaging, relevant, and accessible learning experiences for all learners" (Office of Educational Technology, 2017, p.57). Education is moving towards using technology-based assessments because it is much more individualized, engaging it's relevant, and creating experiences for the learners according to the Office of Educational Technology. This is also important because everything is we as educators are doing so many things in my visual art room I am teaching correcting figuring out processes watching students by using technology. I can get immediate feedback and able to respond to everyone in their learning style and timely manner there's so much going on in my room at one given moment that without technology I wouldn't even know for example one of my students would only talk to me via typing or an email. She just doesn't feel comfortable talking with me but will email me or ask questions through Jamboard or other means. Describe an instance from your own educational experiences where technology-based assessment was used effectively. How does this instance align with or contradict the findings in the report? Our main LMS system is Canvas, and I use canvas quizzes to establish immediate feedback from the students where they're assessing me and what I do and telling me what they need and they type it submitted it instantly I can see it I can respond I can ask them more questions to figure out what's going on This is one of the forms technology that I use. This is aligned with findings from the report because they want students to have a connection to their data. "When they have access to their data, students can play a larger role in choosing their learning pathways" (Office of Educational Technology, 2017, p.58). Reference Office of Educational Technology. the Use of Technology For Assessments 5-29-2024
REFLECTION
How did completing this work contribute toward your understanding of the objective?
Completing this work has taught me quite a bit about how to explain the relevance and importance of formative assessments and the immediate feedback we can get to gather data and create personalized digital learning experiences. We educators must be doing as many things as we can so that we can respond to each student in their learning style as quickly and effectively as possible.

What do you know now that you didn’t know at the beginning of the course because of this work?
What I didn't know was how to present this data to other educators who do not see any need to use technology in their formative assessments. There is a great divide even in our building, amongst educators on how to use technology and when not to use technology, and now through this assignment, I can see the immediate immediate responsiveness, and how all educators can apply this, and this gives me the means to communicate that to them and even help or assist if they have further questions.

What do you like about this work?
I like that everything is about individualized student learning and it's about the speed and rapidness of the now and we can drive our thoughts. Our processes are findings. It's relevant and technology is a tool that we need to use I like that I was able to write about this and research the why's and how's.

What is one thing you can improve upon in this work?
As far as improving upon again, I wish I would've gone into greater depth and more detail as we have certain individuals that need to see this and grass and I wish I would've been able to put even more into it. I'm going to research and look more on my own as well.

What long and short-term goals can you set for yourself based on completion of this work?

For long-term and short-term goals, I'm going to continue to use technology in the visual art room. I'm also going to continue to find and research ways to always have vitalized student learning at the forefront of what I do. This is something I've always believed in each, and every student and individual their pieces are individual. We are individuals, and I want to cater to the individuality and the effectiveness of what I do.

REFLECTION
How did completing this work contribute toward your understanding of the objective? Reviewing the compilation of 75 digital tools and apps that educators can utilize to enhance formative assessments is a valuable resource for everyone. It's impressive to see such a comprehensive list, and the research and organization showcased in this blog are truly commendable. What do you know now that you didn’t know at the beginning of the course because of this work? This provides me with a conveniently organized resource for obtaining a brief overview of an app: what it does, why I would want to use it, and its intended purpose. With a compiled list like this, I can efficiently review and identify the apps that other teachers are using and recommending. What do you like about this work? There are 75 apps already compiled in front of me. Each app can be quickly understood in one sentence, allowing me to decide if I'm interested in further research. I have the option to click and download the apps if I find them appealing. What is one thing you can improve upon in this work? It would be great if the work already included links to the app review, rating, and data policy for easy access. Currently, I have to manually search for this information, but I guess it's a good opportunity to browse through common sense education and engage in some exploration. It can actually be quite fun, so it's not all bad. What long and short term goals can you set for yourself based on completion of this work? In terms of short-term goals, I aim to stay updated with the latest developments in apps and technologies to ensure that I'm not left behind. I came across a quick and informative blog that caught my attention and I found it to be a valuable addition to my reading list.
